The long-awaited Zayed National Museum is finally set to open on December 3, 2025, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore the deep roots and rich heritage of the UAE. Designed to celebrate the legacy of the country’s founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the museum will bring together history, art, archaeology, and national identity under one roof.

Visitors will begin their experience at the Masar Garden, a 600-metre stretch filled with native Emirati plants. Interactive features make the garden an engaging introduction to traditional life, including the ancient Falaj irrigation system that dates back 5,000 years. A series of 12 animal-inspired sculptures are also on display throughout the garden, offering a nod to the region’s natural history.

Set across two floors, the museum will feature six permanent galleries and a space for temporary exhibitions, covering over 300,000 years of human history. The collection includes artefacts from across the UAE, many of which were donated by individuals and institutions, along with key pieces on domestic and international loan.

One of the museum’s headline attractions is the full-scale reconstruction of a Magan Boat from the Bronze Age. Built using traditional materials like reeds and palm-fibre rope, this 18-metre exhibit highlights the UAE’s long seafaring legacy.

Among the standout items is the Abu Dhabi Pearl, thought to be one of the oldest natural pearls ever discovered, providing new context to the region’s pearling legacy. Visitors will also see The Blue Quran, considered one of the most significant pieces in Islamic manuscript art.

Inclusivity is also central to the museum’s design. Spaces have been created with accessibility in mind, ensuring visitors of all ages and abilities, including people of determination and the elderly, can engage with the exhibits comfortably and independently.

From rare historical pieces to modern research collaborations, the museum is set to offer something for every visitor. If you’re planning to spend the whole day there, make sure to check out one of dining options: Erth Restaurant with Emirati cusine, Al Ghaf Cafe for quick bites, and three Garden Cafes in Al Masar Garden.

Entry ticket to Zayed National Museum is AED 70 for adults; AED 35 for UAE university students and teachers; and free for children under 18, senior Emiratis and residents, and people of determination.

Don’t miss the big opening on December 3, 2025! Working hours of Zayed National Museum: daily from 10 PM to 8 PM. Last entry is 1 hour before closing.
