In a major development for the global art scene and the MENA region, Art Basel is officially coming to Qatar. The internationally renowned art fair will make its debut in Doha in February 2026, following a newly announced partnership between Art Basel, Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), and QC+.
The inaugural edition of Art Basel Qatar will be hosted at M7 creative hub and the Doha Design District in Msheireb, one of the city’s most innovative neighbourhoods. The location places the fair within walking distance of significant cultural landmarks, including the National Museum of Qatar, further embedding it within the heart of the country’s cultural narrative.

The fair aims to strengthen the creative economy, support local and regional artistic talent, and foster international collaboration. It also aligns with Qatar’s broader strategy to use culture as a key pillar of economic diversification, in line with the country’s national development goals.
Beyond its annual February fair, Art Basel Qatar is expected to maintain year-round engagement, building connections across Art Basel’s global platforms while showcasing the MENA region’s contemporary art landscape.

This initiative is set to bring a new level of exposure to regional collectors, gallerists, artists, and cultural institutions, positioning Qatar even more prominently on the global arts map. It reflects how thoughtful investment in the arts can yield lasting impact — not just locally, but worldwide.
With preparations underway, the countdown to Art Basel Qatar 2026 has officially begun.
