This summer in Dubai was a little more active thanks to Dubai Mallathon, a new initiative that encouraged residents to stay fit in the comfort of air-conditioned spaces. The month-long event in August 2025 turned some of the city’s busiest malls into indoor fitness tracks, offering a fun way to get moving during the hot summer months.
Dubai Mallathon 2025: 40,000 Participants & Guinness World Record
Aimed at encouraging residents to stay active during the hot summer months, the event gathered over 40,000 participants in total, setting a new Guinness World Record. The final race at Dubai Hills Mall attracted 1,392 participants, earning the title for the Most Runners in a Mall Run Event.
The initiative, launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, offered participants the choice of 10k, 5k, and 2.5k runs, all set in the comfort of air-conditioned spaces.
The participating malls included The Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Hills Mall, Deira City Centre, Springs Souk, City Centre Mirdif, and Dubai Marina Mall. Each location welcomed runners every day from 7 AM to 10 AM, making it convenient for people to get their fitness fix before the day began.
Dubai Mallathon 2026: Dates & Details
Starting next year, Dubai Mallathon will transition into a three-month event. The dates for the next edition have already been announced: from June 15 to September 15, 2026. This new format, approved by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, will take also place across various malls in the city, giving more people the chance to join in.
