Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has confirmed that Tuesday, September 23 will be a public holiday for the Kingdom’s 95th National Day. The day off applies to employees in both the government and private sectors, with schools, banks, and official offices also pausing operations so everyone can join the celebrations.

National Day marks the historic unification of the country in 1932 under King Abdulaziz Al Saud. It has been observed since 1965 during the reign of King Faisal, and was officially made a permanent holiday in 2005 by King Abdullah. Every year it brings people together across the Kingdom for festivities filled with concerts, fireworks, airshows, and displays of national pride.

This year’s theme is “Pride in Our Nature,” inspired by Saudi Arabia’s culture and history.

Riyadh, Jeddah, and Khobar will be hosting events throughout the day, including airshows that are always a crowd favourite. Make sure you check the timings of airshows in KSA in advance and head out early to grab the best views of the jets soaring across the skies.

Whether you’re planning to enjoy the long weekend with family or head out to one of the many public gatherings, National Day is all about celebrating the Kingdom’s history and looking to its future. And if you’re based in the Eastern Province or nearby Bahrain, don’t miss the top events and celebrations happening in Sharqiyah and across the causeway.
