A lot has changed in the UAE over the years, and if you want to trace that history through art, this new exhibition in Dubai offers a closer look. The “Observers of Change” art exhibition at Etihad Museum brings together around 60 works by artists who have lived and worked in the country over the years.
Some pieces go back to the UAE’s early days, while others reflect more recent moments, so you get a sense of how things have shifted over time without it feeling too heavy.
Alongside Emirati artists, the exhibition also includes creatives from across the Arab world, all connected by their experience of living in the UAE.
You’ll come across different styles too: from landscape paintings and familiar scenes to abstraction, Arabic calligraphy, photography, and installations.
The exhibition is open until June 30 at Etihad Museum in Dubai, with access included in the standard museum ticket.
If you want to look at a more recent chapter of the country’s story, you’ll be pleased to know the UAE now has its own national orchestra, created in 2025. One of its first pieces, “Men, by God, Truly Men,” is a tribute to those who protect the nation: you can watch the performance here.
