Dubai has just climbed higher than ever before in the Global Financial Centres Index 2026, landing in the top 10 and reinforcing its place as one of the most influential financial hubs in the world. The city has reached 7th place, and this is the highest position ever recorded for a city across the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.
The ranking shows steady performance across different sectors:
- FinTech, Government & Regulatory, Professional Services, and Trading: all in top 5
- Finance, investment management, and insurance: all in top 10
- Overall competitiveness: ranked in the top 10 worldwide for business environment, financial sector development, human capital, and infrastructure
- Banking: 14th place

Dubai is also the only city from the region to make it into the global top 20, putting it in the same league as long-established names like London, New York City, and Singapore.
Based on industry feedback, the city was named the financial centre most likely to grow in importance. That’s a reassuring sign for companies, investors, and professionals already here, and encouraging for those thinking about moving to the region. It signals stability, long-term potential, and a place where opportunities keep getting better.
Earlier this year, Dubai has also ranked No.6 among the world’s safest cities in 2026 and secured second place among the world’s top global dining destinations. Way more reasons to feel good about calling this place home.
