After the recent opening of the Hanging Gardens, Sharjah has added another gem to its collar – Al Hefaiyah Lake. Nestled amidst the picturesque mountains, this newly inaugurated attraction promises to be a refreshing addition to Sharjah’s vibrant landscape.
Opened on March 30, 2024, by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, Al Hefaiyah Lake is expected to become a hotspot for leisure and recreation.
Located along the Sharjah-Kalba Road, just a short drive from the Al Hiyar Tunnel, Al Hefaiyah Lake is not just a scenic marvel but also serves as a strategic water reservoir for the city. Spanning an impressive 132,000 square meters, it offers a serene escape from city life.
One of the highlights of this attraction is the lake itself featuring many fun activities like boat rides, lake tours, and more. For adventurous souls, the 11.7-kilometer mountain trails provide an exciting opportunity to explore the surrounding natural beauty. With trails of varying difficulties and lengths, both seasoned hikers and beginners can take part in the adventure.
There is plenty to do for families as well, from shaded play areas to relaxing spaces for the adults, along with a stunning mosque.
