Ajman has officially been recognised as one of the safest cities in the UAE in 2024, sharing the top spot for daytime security with the capital, Abu Dhabi. According to the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre’s Security Quality of Life Survey, Ajman earned a perfect 100 per cent score for feeling safe during the day.
The results also reflect a strong sense of security at night, with 99 per cent of residents saying they feel safe walking alone after dark. This marks an increase from the emirate’s 98.5 per cent score in 2023, showing steady improvement in public safety.

Major General Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, attributed the achievement to several key initiatives. These include the implementation of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence, notably through the “Ajman – A Safe Home” smart surveillance system, and the introduction of smart gates across the emirate.
Ajman’s police force has also expanded patrol coverage and improved emergency response capabilities. Updates to comprehensive police stations, traffic systems, and rapid response readiness have all contributed to better outcomes in safety and security.

In addition to tech-driven strategies, community outreach efforts have played a role. Programmes led by social protection units and community policing initiatives are helping to build strong ties between law enforcement and local residents, encouraging trust and cooperation.
Together, these developments are strengthening Ajman’s profile as a secure and welcoming place to live or visit — reinforcing the UAE’s broader reputation for safety and stability.
