Two of Southeast Asia’s most respected culinary figures, Chef Akmal Anuar and Chef JP Anglo, are coming together for a collaborative dinner in Dubai. The event, titled Many Hands, will take place on Wednesday, 18 June, at Harummanis in Wasl 51. For one night only, guests will enjoy a six-course menu shaped by shared roots, cultural pride, and culinary heritage.

Many Hands is a tribute to Southeast Asian traditions, specifically inspired by kamayan feasts from the Philippines and nasi padang tables from Indonesia and Malaysia. Both chefs will present three dishes each, creating a six-dish experience that highlights their cultural stories and culinary skills.

The menu will be served in a traditional format — no plates, just banana leaves and hands — as a celebration of communal dining and heritage.

Guests can expect dishes including:

  • Ayam Masak Merah – chicken in a spicy tomato and chilli sauce
  • Beef Belly with Burnt Coconut
  • Sambal
  • Halo Halo x Ais Kacang – a collaborative sweet creation blending two popular cold desserts from each country

Chef Akmal Anuar, born in Singapore to a Malay family, is the mind behind Harummanis, Osteria Funkcoolio, and Goldfish Sushi & Yakitori. Chef JP Anglo, hailing from the Philippines, leads Kooya Filipino Eatery in Dubai and is the founder of Sarsa in the Philippines.
