Good news if you fly with Emirates or flydubai often. The airlines are getting ready to bring Starlink Wi-Fi to all flights by 2027, and it’s going to make long hours in the air feel a lot easier. You’ll be able to stream your shows, make calls, play games, work, or scroll endlessly without worrying about slow connections or extra fees.
And yes, this upgrade covers economy, business, and first class equally.
The rollout starts in November 2025 with Boeing 777 aircraft. The first one is already fitted with Starlink and is currently parked at the Dubai Airshow, where people can try the new system on the ground. Once the show wraps, this aircraft goes straight back into service and becomes the first commercial flight with Starlink on board.

Emirates plans to upgrade around 14 aircraft every month. The A380s begin in February 2026. The Boeing 777s will get two antennas each, while the A380s will have three to make sure the connection stays strong in every cabin.
Starlink Wi-Fi will be completely free on all flights. No logins, no membership, just a one-click connection.
If you rely on staying connected in the air, this upgrade will definitely be worth your attention. And if you’re planning a trip, here’s a quick reminder that Emirates banned the use of power banks during all flights from October 1. It’s something that could affect your travel prep.
Stay tuned for more updates, especially as UAE airlines and airports continue to introduce new features and changes for travellers.
