JD Malat Gallery in Downtown Dubai is taking a step to spotlight emerging talent with its new initiative, Made in the UAE. The gallery is inviting submissions from UAE-based artists working in painting, sculpture, photography, installation, or video. Five selected artists will have their work featured in a group exhibition this December.

This open call aims to discover fresh, exciting voices with strong visual languages and innovative approaches to form and materials. Whether you’re an established artist or just starting out, this initiative is a great opportunity to showcase your work on an international stage.

Jean-David Malat, Founder of JD Malat Gallery, explains the purpose behind the initiative: “We’re opening the door to artists working here on the ground in the UAE, many of whom haven’t yet had the opportunity to access international platforms.” This is a great chance for local talent to break out and gain recognition.

There are plenty of opportunities for creative talent in the UAE right now. Just this July, the Arab Fashion Council launched its first-ever AFC Fashion Fund, offering AED 500,000 to support local designers. Whether you’re an artist or designer, the UAE is becoming a hub for creative growth with initiatives like these.
