Saudi Arabia is stepping up its game in the world of sports with an exciting new announcement. The Kingdom is set to build the grand King Salman Stadium in Riyadh, aiming to be one of the largest sports stadiums in the world. This move aligns perfectly with their goal of hosting the FIFA World Cup in 2034 and is a big part of Saudi Vision 2030.
A Stunning Design Inspired by Nature
The King Salman Stadium will be located next to the newly announced King Salman Park and will cover an impressive 660,000 square meters. The stadium’s design is inspired by the local mountainous landscape, featuring green walls and roofs that highlight environmental sustainability. This means the stadium will be eco-friendly while still being a top-notch sports venue.
An Unmatched Viewing Experience
With a seating capacity of 92,000, the King Salman Stadium will include a royal box with 150 seats, 120 hospitality suites, 300 VIP seats, and 2,200 seats for dignitaries. Fans will get to enjoy the games with indoor gardens and a walking track offering stunning views of King Abdulaziz Park from the roof.
More Than Just a Stadium
But this stadium is set to be more than just a place for sports. It’s going to be a community hub with commercial centers and recreational areas for all ages. Sports lovers can look forward to two training fields, fan zones, an indoor sports hall, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, an athletics track, and outdoor courts for volleyball, basketball, and padel tennis. Basically, it’s going to be a one-stop destination for all kinds of sports and leisure activities.
The King Salman Stadium is expected to be completed by 2029, just in time for the FIFA World Cup 2034. It will likely host some of the matches, adding to the excitement. Along with the New Murabba Stadium and the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium in Qiddiya, this new stadium will help put Saudi Arabia on the map as a global sports hub.
Situated along King Salman Road, the stadium will be easily accessible from key city points like King Khalid International Airport and the Riyadh Metro station.
