A five-day break is on the calendar for Kuwait residents this June, as the country prepares to observe Eid Al Adha — one of the most significant festivals in the Islamic calendar. According to the Al Ojairi Scientific Center, Eid Al Adha will fall on Friday, June 6, 2025, based on astronomical forecasts.

The crescent will reportedly be visible over Kuwait on May 28 for about 43 minutes after sunset, with similar visibility across many Arab and Islamic capitals. This aligns the Day of Arafah with Thursday, June 5, followed by Eid Al Adha on Friday, June 6.

In response, Kuwait’s Cabinet has declared a public holiday from Thursday, June 5 through Monday, June 9, covering all government agencies and public institutions. Work will resume on Tuesday, June 10. Institutions with unique operating schedules may set their own dates independently.

With a long weekend on the horizon, many in Kuwait are expected to take this opportunity to celebrate with loved ones or plan a short getaway, all while honoring the spiritual significance of the holiday.
