Red Sea Global (RSG), the developer behind Saudi Arabia’s flagship regenerative tourism initiative, has announced the launch of Laheq Island, its first luxury destination primarily focused on residential living. Located along the Kingdom’s western coastline, Laheq marks a significant expansion of The Red Sea project into long-term, resort-style communities.

Set to welcome its first residents in 2028, Laheq Island will offer a blend of exclusive homes and hospitality. The development will feature private residences, two luxury hotels, a 115-berth marina, and a wide range of upscale amenities.

These include beach clubs, sports facilities, wellness centres, a golf course, and a traditional souq with dining and retail options, all designed to support a self-sustained, coastal lifestyle.

In keeping with RSG’s commitment to environmental stewardship, the island will be powered entirely by renewable energy. It will also support key conservation efforts such as coral reef restoration and mangrove planting, in line with the ecological goals shared by all Red Sea developments.

The island’s layout, created by renowned architecture firm Foster + Partners, is anchored by “The Ring”—an 800-metre circular structure surrounding a central lagoon. This hub will integrate apartments, retail outlets, and hotel facilities, all set within lush greenery that follows the “Forever Garden” concept focused on natural harmony and sustainable design.

RSG’s strategy is to transition from short-stay tourism toward integrated, livable communities. Upon full completion in 2030, The Red Sea destination will include around 50 resorts and more than 1,000 residential properties.
