Dubai is set to introduce a game-changing parking system at three of its busiest malls — Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Deira, and City Centre Mirdif — beginning January 1, 2025. Partnering with Majid Al Futtaim, Parkin will roll out a high-tech “barrierless parking” solution that utilizes advanced camera technology to automatically track vehicles.

Parkin, Dubai’s primary public parking operator, confirmed that fees for parking will remain unchanged under the five-year deal with MAF.

The primary benefit will be a smoother, more efficient experience for the 20 million vehicles expected to visit these malls annually. In total, these sites offer 21,000 parking spaces, and the updated system will significantly reduce congestion and improve traffic flow, enhancing the overall experience for shoppers and visitors.

With advanced technology, cameras will scan and capture vehicle license plates upon entry and exit, allowing visitors to enjoy uninterrupted parking. The system will automatically calculate the duration of stay and notify drivers via SMS or the Parkin app about parking charges so they can pay online.

Parkin, which is listed on the Dubai Financial Market, has hinted at plans to further expand its services into other high-traffic locations, including airports and entertainment centers. As the city continues its rapid growth, introducing frictionless services is essential for keeping pace with increasing traffic and the demands of both residents and tourists.
