Saudi Arabia’s evolving tourism landscape is making room for a new addition on the Red Sea. Yanbu, a coastal city known for its history and strategic location, is set to welcome a boutique wellness resort by 2027, developed in partnership with ASFAR — the tourism investment arm of the Public Investment Fund — and destination development firm Baheej.

The upcoming property will be a 34-room heritage-inspired hotel featuring cabanas with sea views, a spa that integrates maritime motifs, and wellness-focused experiences like yoga and meditation. Designed by architecture firm Spectrum, the resort will reflect the region’s rich seafaring history through both design and amenities.

Projected to open by 2027, the development will span a built area of more than 27,000 sqm. Plans include a restaurant, café, and a spa facility, all envisioned to offer both comfort and cultural resonance.

Baheej CEO Norah Al-Tamimi emphasised that this is just one of four projects in the pipeline for Yanbu, each aiming to transform the city’s industrial coastline into a destination for both domestic and international visitors. With its blend of local heritage and modern wellness offerings, the resort is set to be a unique chapter in the Kingdom’s tourism development story.
