A major milestone in the Al Shindagha Corridor Improvement Project has been reached with the opening of a three-lane bridge connecting Sheikh Rashid Road to the Infinity Bridge. This highly anticipated addition, announced on Sunday, December 8, by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), promises smoother, faster travel across the city.
Stretching an impressive 1,335 meters, this bridge enhances traffic flow between Sheikh Rashid Road and Falcon Interchange, accommodating up to 10,800 vehicles per hour in both directions.

This is just the first of several transformative upgrades in the Al Shindagha Corridor project, a massive 4.8-kilometer overhaul designed to improve connectivity in key areas, including Deira, Bur Dubai, Dubai Maritime City, and Port Rashid.
By 2030, travel time along the Al Shindagha Corridor will plummet from 104 minutes to just 16 minutes, thanks to increased road capacity and strategic traffic management. This transformation will benefit over a million residents and support Dubai’s developmental projects, such as Dubai Islands and Deira Waterfront.
More improvements are on the way. A second bridge on Sheikh Rashid Road, linking Al Mina Intersection to Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street, is scheduled for completion in January 2025. By then, the corridor will feature multiple bridges and enhancements designed to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow and reduce congestion.
RTA’s Director General, His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, highlighted the broader impact: “The Al Shindagha Corridor project exemplifies our commitment to creating world-class infrastructure, ensuring smoother traffic flow, and significantly enhancing the quality of life for Dubai’s residents and visitors.”
As part of this ambitious project, the Falcon Interchange Improvement Project is already finished, featuring two new bridges along Al Khaleej Street to further streamline traffic in this bustling area.
