With winter approaching and the temperatures dropping, Abu Dhabi’s Department of Municipality and Transport (DMT) has unveiled 253 designated barbecue zones across 28 parks, encouraging safe and eco-friendly outdoor cooking. To make barbecuing both safe and eco-friendly, parks are now equipped with concrete grilling platforms, as well as waste and charcoal disposal facilities to protect green spaces and ensure the preservation of natural beauty.
Popular parks like Dolphin Park, Khalifa Park, and Family Park along the Corniche have special areas where visitors can enjoy barbecues while adhering to the new rules.
This year, awareness campaigns such as “Enjoy Your Barbecue and Preserve Your Place” have been launched to promote proper usage of these areas, highlighting the importance of sustainability and public safety. The initiative also emphasizes preserving park cleanliness and ensuring that waste is discarded properly to prevent damage to green areas.
