Sharjah is preparing to host the 12th edition of Sharjah International Film Festival for Children & Youth this autumn, reaffirming its place as one of the UAE’s cultural highlights. The festival will take place from October 6 to 11 at VOX Cinemas, City Centre Al Zahia, presenting a carefully curated programme designed to appeal to young audiences as well as seasoned film enthusiasts.
This year’s edition brings together 76 productions representing 26 nations, offering a wide range of voices and styles.
Several premieres are scheduled during Sharjah International Film Festival for Children & Youth 2025, among them:
- “Miss Moxy” (Netherlands) – a family adventure about a cat’s journey home
- “Hajeer” (Saudi Arabia) – a 1960s Jeddah-set story of a young musician with a hearing impairment, directed by Sarah Talab
- A South Korean production by Suryeon Jung – a narrative exploring the friendship of two girls across cultural borders
The festival will also extend beyond the cinema halls. A pop-up at Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park will offer workshops in comic illustration, photography, and product design, while VOX Cinemas will host interactive activities designed to engage children throughout the festival week.
Sharjah International Film Festival for Children & Youth 2025 can be an enjoyable day out for young film fans and their parents, offering an experience that blends entertainment with cultural insight.
Later in October, Sharjah will also welcome another major cultural event: 8-day World Stage Design exhibition, further enriching the emirate’s growing calendar of events for creative minds.
