If you’re driving through the Muweileh Commercial Area in Sharjah, take note: the roundabout next to the Holy Quran Complex is currently closed for planned maintenance.

The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed that the closure will remain in effect until Friday, August 22. The works began on Sunday, August 3, and are part of infrastructure improvements aimed at enhancing road safety and traffic flow in this busy area.

Alternative routes will be clearly marked to ensure smooth traffic movement. Commuters are advised to follow on-site traffic signs and updates from the Sharjah RTA to avoid delays. Drivers heading to nearby educational institutions or commercial facilities may need to adjust their routes slightly during the closure.

While drivers manage diversions, public transport options just got better. In late July, a new intercity bus route was launched, offering another connection between Sharjah and Dubai. The service aims to ease congestion and give commuters a reliable, budget-friendly alternative between the two emirates.
