Sharjah is gearing up to introduce a paid parking system in Al Dhaid City starting January 1, 2025. The move aims to enhance urban planning and ensure efficient use of parking spaces. Here’s what you need to know about the new rules and how they may affect your daily routine.
Paid parking will apply from Saturday to Thursday, 8 AM to 10 PM. Fridays, however, will generally remain free — except for certain zones where fees will be enforced every day, including weekends and public holidays.
To make it easier for motorists, the Sharjah Municipality will install blue signboards throughout Al Dhaid to highlight areas where paid parking is active 24/7. Clear signage ensures residents and visitors can quickly identify zones and avoid fines.
This isn’t Sharjah’s first adjustment to parking regulations. In October, new seven-day paid parking hours were rolled out for specific zones in the city. Starting November 1, parking fees in these zones now apply from 8 AM to midnight, extending the previously set hours. These longer hours ensure that high-demand areas remain accessible to all.
Motorists should watch for blue and white curb markings and corresponding signs detailing the applicable fees and times. These visual cues are part of Sharjah’s strategy to ensure clarity and compliance across all parking zones.
If you’re planning to visit or live in Al Dhaid, it’s time to prepare for this upcoming change. Keep an eye out for updates and familiarize yourself with the zone markings to avoid unnecessary fines.
