Reif Othman, one of Dubai’s most recognisable culinary names, has just added two new restaurants to his growing empire. Both SIO and KONA have officially opened their doors inside The Link at One Za’abeel — the world’s longest cantilevered building — bringing fresh Japanese-inspired concepts to one of the city’s newest landmarks.
SIO: A Ramen House with a Refined Twist
At SIO, Reif explores the comforting world of Japanese ramen with a touch of sophistication. Named after the Japanese word for “salt,” SIO is all about honest, soulful flavours served in a polished but relaxed setting.

Menu highlights include:
- SIO Ramen: A classic bowl featuring homemade broth, tender steamed chicken, marinated egg, and a citrusy hint of sudachi.
- Carbonara Udon: A fusion of creamy comfort, topped with an onsen egg, crispy beef bacon, and shaved pecorino.
- Spicy Vongole Ramen: A broth-less option with fresh clams, hojiso, shiso leaves, and a spicy yuzu togarashi punch.
It’s ramen, but not as you know it — simple, soulful, and packed with clever twists.
KONA: Japanese-Italian Pizza With a Bold Edge
Next door, KONA takes classic pizza into new territory, marrying Italian techniques with Japanese ingredients and flavours. “Kona” means “flour” or “powder” in Japanese, but this menu is anything but traditional.

Signature pizzas include:
- Diavolina: Gochujang-spiked tomato sauce, marinated Wagyu ribs, and galbi mayo.
- Ama Ebi: A fiery blend of spicy tomato sauce, red yuzu kosho, and fresh shrimp.
- Spicy Kaki: Beef nduja paired with sweet persimmon for a bold, unexpected combo.
Pizza is familiar ground for Reif, who previously made waves with Moonslice Pizza in 2021, but KONA dials things up with even more inventive pairings.
Both places are open daily from 12 PM to 11 PM. With these two openings, Reif continues to push Dubai’s dining scene forward, blending cultures, ingredients, and creativity in spaces that are set to draw both loyal fans and curious newcomers.
