If you’ve been curious about satellite internet, there’s now a chance to try it locally. Starlink, the satellite internet service created by Elon Musk’s company SpaceX, is now available in Kuwait. Instead of relying on traditional cables or mobile towers, Starlink connects users through a network of satellites. That setup can help provide internet access in areas where regular connections are less reliable.
To get started in Kuwait, you’ll need to purchase a Starlink device. There are two options:
- Mini kit = KWD92. A smaller portable device that can be installed at home or taken with you when needed
- Standard kit = KWD122. Stays fixed in one place, suitable for homes or offices
Both devices offer similar performance. Download speeds typically range between 135 and 305 Mbps, while upload speeds fall between 20 and 40 Mbps.

While Starlink may not be faster than 5G and the price is higher than some local internet plans, the service is known for its low latency. That can be especially useful for things like online gaming or video calls.
The monthly subscription costs KWD31 and includes unlimited data. There is also no long-term contract, which means you can try the service for a month and decide later whether you want to keep it.
You may also want to check out another upcoming launch: Uber has plans to come to Kuwait very soon, and its much-awaited arrival scheduled for first half of 2026.
