Abu Dhabi has added a major new draw to its lineup of attractions with the launch of Surf Abu Dhabi, the world’s most advanced artificial wave park, located on Hudayriyat Island. Developed by Modon Properties in partnership with surfing legend Kelly Slater’s Wave Company, this premium surf park sets new records with its longest ride, tallest man-made wave, and largest barrel. With options designed for beginners to experts, Surf Abu Dhabi’s precision waves offer perfect surfing conditions — no ocean needed.

A Full Surf and Leisure Experience

Surf Abu Dhabi’s unique approach blends surf thrills with luxury. The park offers tailored experiences for every level, with seasoned coaches from countries like South Africa and Australia. “Our team includes top talent,” says Mitch Crews, senior director of Surf Abu Dhabi, who describes the park as a surf resort experience packed into an hour. Surf sessions can be booked for individual, group, or beginner lessons, with ample guidance for newcomers learning the basics in a controlled wave environment.

The surrounding facilities add to the experience, letting visitors relax and enjoy the coastal vibe. Nalu Surf Club and Ilios provide two distinct atmospheres:

  • Nalu Surf Club: Drawing inspiration from Hawaiian surf culture, Nalu offers Asian-Latin fusion cuisine, a cold plunge pool, and panoramic wave views from its sun loungers.
  • Ilios: For those after a Mediterranean escape, Ilios serves Greek-inspired dishes, specialty cocktails, and DJ sets, creating an ambiance reminiscent of Mykonos.
