The United Arab Emirates has officially launched a new government performance system powered by artificial intelligence (AI). The initiative was introduced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

This system is designed to save more than 250,000 work hours per year. It will use AI tools and algorithms to conduct in-depth analysis, produce executive summaries, and support predictive performance management. By processing over 150 million data points every month, the system aims to provide 50,000 proactive insights annually to help decision-makers respond quickly.

One of the main goals is to support the national development plan known as “We the UAE 2031”, which is built around four key pillars:

  • Society
  • Economy
  • Diplomacy
  • Ecosystem

The new system will monitor the timely implementation of national strategies, optimise resources, and ensure that service quality remains consistent. It will offer real-time data and flexible reporting, helping government teams plan better for future challenges and opportunities.

Around 200 government employees specialising in performance management and data analysis will be trained to use the platform. Over time, the system is expected to support more than 250,000 users across the public sector.

Earlier this year, Abu Dhabi announced its goal to become the world’s first fully AI-native government by 2027, signalling a broader national shift towards tech-driven governance.

With AI now deeply integrated into performance monitoring, the UAE government is taking clear steps to streamline operations and plan smarter for the future.
