Dubai has just given us a sneak peek into the future of transportation. On October 13, the city witnessed its first public flying taxi demo, where an electric aircraft took flight over Palm Jumeirah. This event, developed by Aridge, marks a significant step toward making flying taxis a regular part of urban life in the city.
This flying car concept works through a detachable two-seat aircraft that can be carried by an electric truck. When the time comes, the separates from the truck and takes off. Transitioning from driving to flying is simple, with the vehicle offering automatic and manual controls that make it accessible even for beginner pilots.
Aridge has already received 600 orders for these flying taxis from companies in the UAE and Qatar, including Ali & Sons Group and Almana Group.
By 2026, we may see flying taxis offering convenient and fast travel across the city. In fact, a trip from Dubai to Ras Al Khaimah by air could take just 15 minutes. It’s a bold step toward revolutionizing urban mobility, and Dubai is ready to take off.
Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting journey toward flying taxis and the future of transport in Dubai.
