Bahrain has been ranked as the 16th safest country in the world, according to the latest report from Numbeo, a global database that tracks quality-of-life indicators. The 2025 safety index places Bahrain among the top 20 safest nations, with a score of 75.5. Andorra, which topped the list, holds a score of 84.7.

Numbeo’s rankings are based on survey responses from website visitors over the past 36 months. The index takes into account various factors, including:

  • Concerns about theft, physical attacks, and harassment
  • Public perception of crime levels in their country
  • How safe residents feel walking alone, especially at night
  • Reports of violent crimes (assault or homicide)
  • Incidents of property crimes (burglary or vandalism)

Bahrain isn’t the only GCC to make the list. The UAE (2nd place), Qatar (3rd place), Oman (4th place), and Saudi Arabia (5th place) have made it to the top 5 globally. These rankings reflect the Gulf region’s strong focus on security, low crime rates, and general public safety.

For many residents and visitors, Bahrain is known for being a secure and friendly country. With a relaxed atmosphere and a strong sense of community, it continues to be a preferred destination for people looking for both safety and quality of life.
