This Sunday, January 12, Dubai gears up for one of its most exciting annual events — the Dubai Marathon 2025. Whether you’re participating, cheering from the sidelines, or simply navigating the city, here’s everything you need to know to prepare for the day.

Road Closures to Expect for Dubai Marathon 2025

Large-scale events like the Dubai Marathon mean significant road closures to ensure the safety of runners and spectators. While official details from the RTA are yet to be confirmed, past years offer a reliable guide. Key roads such as King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street and sections of Umm Suqeim Street are likely to face diversions throughout the day.

Plan your routes accordingly to avoid disruptions.

The starting line is set near Madinat Jumeirah. From there, runners will make their way toward Dubai College Junction along Al Sufouh Road. The route passes the base of the Palm Jumeirah trunk, heads to The Westin, and loops back at the traffic lights. The course continues along Al Sufouh, crossing Beach Road past landmarks such as the Jumeirah Beach Hotel and the newly completed Marsa Al Arab.

The marathon extends to the bridge at the Dubai Creek, with participants looping back twice before reaching the finish line near the Dubai Police Academy.

The event offers something for every runner, from elite athletes to amateurs. Here’s the full schedule of Dubai Marathon 2025:

  • Elite Marathon: 6 AM
  • General Marathon: 7 AM
  • 10km Road Race: 8:15 AM
  • 4km Fun Run: 10:30 AM

Whether you’re competing or spectating, make sure to set your alarms early and plan your day around these timings. Stay updated on road closures and explore detour options to avoid traffic congestion.
