Etihad is bringing Japan a lot closer next summer. The airline announced the launch of direct flights to Tokyo from June 2026, giving travellers a non-stop way to fly from Abu Dhabi to one of Asia’s favourite cities. The first flight will take place on June 16, and from that date Abu Dhabi (AUH) and Narita Airport (NRT) will be connected by a daily service.

Here’s the schedule:

  • AUH to NRT: departure at 09:25 PM, arrival at 12:45 PM (local time)
  • NRT to AUH: departure at 6 PM, arrival at 12:20 AM (local time)

Etihad announced that the route will be operated by the A380. The aircraft will offer the usual range of cabin choices, including First Class and The Residence for travellers who want to arrive in the land of the rising sun with utmost comfort.

This new route is worth your attention if a summer trip to Tokyo is on your mind. And if you want to dive into Japanese culture without getting on a plane, check out Animenia Abu Dhabi 2026.
