Dubai is preparing a new family-friendly getaway that will change everything you think about desert experiences. Meet Al Layan Oasis, a massive development less than an hour of drive from the city. With a serene lake, trails, camping spots, and outdoor cinema, this place is going to be perfect for anyone looking to explore, relax, or just get away from it all.
You’ll find four different areas to explore:
- Camping Oasis with 100 caravan sites and a visitor center
- Gathering Oasis with an open-air cinema, amphitheater, outdoor theater, and a food truck plaza
- Family Oasis with 28 rest zones and play areas for kids
- Recreation Oasis with activities and shopping
There are also plenty of ways to stay active! With 14 km of walking and biking paths, you can explore the oasis at your own pace. You can take a walk, ride a bike, or enjoy elevated trails, which offer stunning views of the desert.
Al Layan Oasis will become one of the stops on the emirate’s RV route. The area will feature 1,000 parking spaces.

The project is part of Dubai’s Green and Blue Spaces Roadmap, a huge initiative that will transform the city by 2030.
