Starting April 4, Dubai’s paid public parking system will see a major change with the introduction of variable fees. The new pricing structure, confirmed by Parkin PJSC, will include peak-hour rates, impacting drivers in both residential and commercial areas.

Peak and Off-Peak Hours in Dubai

The new tariff system introduces higher fees during peak hours:

  • Morning Peak: 8 AM – 10 AM
  • Evening Peak: 4 PM – 8 PM

During off-peak hours (10 AM – 4 PM & 8 PM – 10 PM), parking rates will remain unchanged. Parking will also remain free on Sundays and public holidays.

Premium Parking Cost in Dubai from April 4

Parkin has worked with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to determine premium parking areas. These are locations near metro stations, high-traffic commercial zones, and areas where parking demand is consistently high. These parking zones will be reclassified.

The familiar A, B, C, and D zones will now be labeled as AP, BP, CP, and DP. In areas designated with a P, prices will rise significantly during peak hours. For example, for Al Barsha’s premium parking (Zone CP), the new rates will be:

  • 1 hour: AED 6 (3 times more than before)
  • 2 hours: AED 12 (over twice the previous rate)
  • 3 hours: AED 18 (more than double)
  • 4 hours: AED 24 (over twice the previous rate)

During off-peak hours, prices will remain at the current levels. Check the updated prices for parking in the city by the Zones (A to D) for standard/premium areas and peak/off-peak hours here.

Also, at Dubai World Trade Centre, parking fees will be AED 25 per hour during major events.

New parking signs are already being installed across the city, and updated zone codes are reflected in the Parkin app. The new variable pricing officially starts right after the Eid Al Fitr holidays. To avoid surprises, drivers should check updated parking fees in their areas and adjust their routines accordingly.
