For the first time ever, Global Village will celebrate the Emirati tradition of Hag Al Laila, inviting visitors to take part in this cultural festivity from February 13 to 16. This special event highlights the rich heritage of the UAE and the spirit of giving as families prepare for the holy month of Ramadan.

Hag Al Laila, also called Qargian, is an Emirati tradition observed on the 15th night of Sha’ban, which falls on February 13 this year. It is a time when children dress in colorful clothes, sing traditional songs, and collect sweets from their neighbors.

Global Village will transform into a festive space with decorations inspired by Emirati heritage, such as palm fronds, lanterns, and traditional seating areas. Visitors can enjoy traditional performances, interactive workshops, and sweet giveaways, all designed to showcase Emirati culture.

There will also be special meet-and-greet sessions with ‘The Nomads’ characters, adding a fun element for younger guests. The event will take place between the Main Stage and Dragon Lake.

This celebration is part of a broader effort to educate younger generations about Emirati customs and values, aligning with the UAE’s 2025 ‘Year of Community’ initiative announced by President Sheikh Mohamed.

Whether you’re experiencing Hag Al Laila for the first time or reliving cherished memories, Global Village offers a unique opportunity to take part in this beautiful tradition. Don’t miss the chance to enjoy the festivities and learn more about Emirati culture in an engaging and interactive setting!
