Dubai’s sporting calendar is keeping the momentum going into the new year. One of the most anticipated events, L’Etape Dubai by Tour de France, is returning to the city on January 25, 2026.
The official amateur cycling event brings the world-famous Tour de France atmosphere to the UAE with a full day of road cycling across closed streets, combining scenic city views with stretches through Dubai’s desert outskirts.

L’Etape Dubai 2026 is expanding its format, offering four ride categories to suit different experience levels:
- RACE (101 km): a competitive route built for experienced cyclists ready to test their endurance
- RIDE (50 km): a more relaxed but rewarding route for casual or intermediate riders
- Family Ride (20 km): open to all age groups and perfect for recreational cyclists and families
- Kids’ Races: held on the first day, giving younger riders a chance to join the fun in a safe environment
Participants will ride on fully closed roads, with support and safety measures in place throughout the course.

Registration is now open, with entry fees ranging from AED 416 to AED 505 depending on the race category. Early sign-up is recommended to secure a spot and take advantage of any available discounts.
The event will also feature a lively fan village, entertainment zones, and appearances by former Tour de France legends. It’s a full day out for both riders and spectators, designed to bring the cycling community together in one of the region’s most high-profile cycling events.
L’Etape Dubai may still be a few months away, but the city’s fitness scene is already in full swing. From triathlons and fun runs to indoor training series, Dubai residents can dive into a full calendar of fitness events this autumn. Great options to build up endurance ahead of January’s big ride.
