You know that moment at the doctor’s office when you’re trying to explain everything quickly, hoping you don’t forget something important? That experience might soon feel very different in the UAE. Meet Amal, the country’s first AI physician assistant and a genuine breakthrough in healthcare.

Amal steps in before you speak to a doctor. Here’s how it works:

  • You complete an interactive interview with Amal
  • AI assistant records your symptoms, medical background and key concerns
  • The system builds a medical summary
  • Your doctor reviews the summary before the consultation begins
  • After your appointment, you can return to Amal to clarify medication instructions or ask follow-up questions

Developed by Boston Health AI, Amal supports the shift toward smart healthcare in Emirates Health Services (EHS). It helps reduce waiting times, improves workflow inside clinics and gives physicians insights before they even see the patient.

The system has already been tested in the US and Pakistan, with reported satisfaction over 95%. Now, Amal is launching in the UAE, first within EHS’s rapid care system for Emirati nationals through teleconsultation appointments. There are plans to expand into additional services later.

With such innovations, the country is clearly thinking long-term when it comes to health. In 2027, UAE’s first wellness and longevity residences will open on Al Jurf Island between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Also,  massive wellbeing resort called Therme Dubai is scheduled for 2028.

Stay tuned for more updates, news and innovations shaping life across the UAE.
