New year brings some changes to two popular communities in Dubai. If you live at Discovery Gardens or International City, you should know that paid parking zones will be introduced in both starting in early 2026. Here’s everything you need to know about the new system, timings, and parking fees in both areas.

New Parking Zone at Discovery Gardens (Code P106)

Residents already notice parking signs popping up around the community. However, no fees before Thursday, January 15, 2026.

Here are the hourly parking rates at Discovery Gardens:

  • Standard hours (8 AM – 5 PM): AED 4
  • Peak hours (5 PM – 12 AM): AED 6
  • Ramadan peak hours (starting at 3 PM): AED 6

If you’re a resident, don’t forget to apply for your parking permit on time to avoid any hassle.

New Parking Zone at International City (Code 621Q)

Starting February 1, 2026, paid parking will also be introduced here. Right now, you can notice the signs in areas like the France and China clusters, but no parking meters are up yet.

The tariffs at International City are the same as for other areas under Zone Q. Rates start at AED 2 (30 minutes), and you can pay up to AED 24 for a 16 hours of parking.

If you’re wondering why the fees aren’t the same everywhere, here’s the explanation. Recently, the city updated its parking rates, especially in 17 high-traffic areas. So, if you’re leaving your car in popular neighborhoods, expect to pay a bit more.

If you live at Discovery Gardens or International City, it’s important to be aware of the changes. For more information on other recent additions, check out this article on the six more paid parking zones that appeared in Dubai in late 2025 (November and December).
