Drivers heading out of Sharjah this weekend should be prepared for a detour. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Sharjah has confirmed that part of the Sharjah-Dhaid Road will be temporarily closed to traffic from Friday, April 18, through Monday, April 21, 2025.
The closure affects the exit leading to Al Dhaid City – specifically, Bridge No. 4. This is part of ongoing roadwork aimed at improving the infrastructure and easing congestion on this busy stretch. Check the official map below showing which parts of the road are affected. Sections marked in red will be closed, while green zones remain open for use.

Drivers are being advised to plan their routes ahead of time and take alternative roads to avoid delays. The RTA is urging caution and patience during the closure period, and reminds everyone that the short-term inconvenience should lead to smoother journeys in the future.
The construction may cause some delays, especially during peak hours, so leaving early and staying updated with traffic reports could save a headache or two.
