Sharjah is preparing to host the first-ever Sharjah Literature Festival (SLF), running from January 17 to 21, 2025, under the theme “Emirati Tales Inspire the Future.” This much-anticipated event will celebrate the UAE’s storytelling traditions and literary accomplishments.
The Emirates Publishers Association (EPA) and Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) have collaborated to organize the festival, which will take place in the open area opposite the University City Hall in Sharjah. Visitors can enjoy daily activities from 4 PM to 11 PM, making it a perfect evening outing for families, literary enthusiasts, and culture seekers.
Held under the patronage of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and supported by Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), the festival reflects the emirate’s commitment to nurturing a love of literature and storytelling.
The Sharjah Literature Festival aims to spotlight the UAE’s rich literary heritage while fostering meaningful connections between readers, writers, and publishers. It’s an opportunity to engage with celebrated Emirati authors, discover new perspectives on storytelling, and explore the world of publishing.
From thought-provoking discussions to creative workshops and showcases of Emirati talent, the SLF will serve as a dynamic platform for literature lovers to immerse themselves in the art of storytelling.
