December 13 is going to be a big day for thousands of runners as ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon 2025 takes over the city. The marathon will cover many key areas in the capital. As a result, major roads will be closed on Saturday for several hours to accommodate the event. If you’re planning to drive that morning, be prepared for some changes.
Here are the details and the map of the road closures:
- Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street closed from 5 AM to 7 AM
- Al Bateen Street closed from 5 AM to 8:30 AM
- Corniche Street closed from 3 AM to 9:30 AM
- Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed St closed from 4 AM to 11:15 AM (in four phases: yellow, blue, violet and brown on the map)
- Al Jami’ Al Kabeer Street/Saif Ghobash Street closed from 6:30 AM to 12:30 PM

If you’re driving, be sure to check out the alternative routes highlighted on the map in green to avoid the closures in Abu Dhabi this Saturday.
It’s not the only change drivers in the capital should be aware of. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street will be partially closed until December 22. If you take this route, make sure to check out the map and timings to plan your journey.
Whether you’re running or driving this Saturday in the capital, stay safe and enjoy the day!
