The UAE government has announced the official working hours for federal employees during Ramadan 2025. Public sector offices will operate on a shorter schedule to accommodate the holy month.
According to a circular issued by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), federal ministries and authorities will work from 9 AM to 2:30 PM from Monday to Thursday, while on Fridays, the hours will be from 9 AM to 12 PM.

The circular also allows for flexibility — ministries and government offices can introduce remote work or adjustable schedules where necessary, as long as they stay within the set daily hours. This announcement ensures that government employees can balance their professional duties with Ramadan’s religious and cultural practices.
Apart from adjusted working hours, several other changes will take effect during Ramadan across the UAE:
- Public etiquette & rules: residents and visitors are asked to respect Ramadan customs. You can check the full list of DOs and DON’Ts during the holy month.
- Changes will apply to Salik toll fees in Dubai, offering free passage from 2 AM to 7 AM daily and reduced prices during other periods.
