Exciting news for waterpark fans: Yas Waterworld on Yas Island is set to expand in a big way this summer. Miral, the developer behind some of Abu Dhabi’s top attractions, has confirmed that the park will be adding 12 brand-new rides and slides, plus fresh dining options, just in time for the hotter months.

The expansion introduces a new themed zone called The Lost City, building on the park’s original Legend of the Lost Pearl story. Expect hidden treasures, secret passages, and plenty of surprises woven into the new attractions.

Here are some hints at what to expect at Yas Waterworld this summer:

  • Al Sahel Junior: The region’s first mini zero-gravity boomerango with dramatic drops and zooming slides.
  • Dawwama Junior: A pint-sized version of the iconic tornado ride, made for younger guests.
  • Rimal Racer: A side-by-side racing slide designed for maximum splash.
  • Mataha Madness: A twisting maze of watery fun.
  • Sadaf Swirl: A swirling, fast-paced ride for all ages.
  • Bahamut’s Rage: A high-thrill log flume featuring intense drops.
  • Bandit’s Playground: An interactive splash zone in the newly expanded Bandit’s Village, perfect for smaller kids.

And there’s even bigger news: the expansion will also feature the UAE’s highest waterslide and the GCC’s first amusement ride integrated within a waterpark, complete with a 15-metre plunge shared with 19 fellow riders.

Once the project is completed, Yas Waterworld will offer more than 60 rides and attractions, cementing its status as a top spot for family-friendly fun in the UAE. The new attractions are expected to open this summer, making it the perfect time to plan a trip to Yas Island — and practise your best cannonball moves.
