British singer Ryan Molloy rose to fame when he became the lead singer of the British band Frankie Goes to Hollywood in 2004.

Originating from North Shields, Molloy moved to London to pursue a career in acting. He has since trained at The Poor School, the University of California and attended acting classes in LA and New York.

His music career began in the late 1990s when he supported Jamiroquai and The Lighthouse Family, before perusing acting, where he was cast in Macbeth and Jerry Springer – The Opera amongst other musicals. Molloy was part of the National Theatre’s original cast and won the Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as the Angel Gabriel.

Although short lived, Molloy’s career with the world-famous Frankie Goes to Hollywood saw him perform at Wembley Arena and on the band’s world tour shortly after.

Molloy starred in the musical Tonight’s The Night in 2006 and was also cast as Frankie Valli in the Jersey Boys West End premiere in 2007. It was in this role that Molloy stayed for 6 years, making him the longest-running star in a West End musical. He also provided vocals for the Jersey Boys film, which was released in2014.
