Where once you’d need to sell thousands of records and tirelessly build yourself up via a network of gigs to announce yourself on the world stage, one viral sensation can now break your career. And with his 2013 hit ‘Flute’ currently boasting over 50million views on Youtube, it’s fair to say that Dutch DJ and producer Thomas Newson has hit the big time.
But then again, as the son of hugely influential trance and electro DJ Marco V, dance music is very much in his veins. Since that 2013 debut, Thomas Newson has signed for a plethora of big name labels including Spinnin’, Armada Music and Revealed Recordings (Hardwell’s record label), while also being given the chance to rework tracks from Galantis, Armin Van Buuren.
And in 2014, he went one stage further and re-worked his Dad’s track ‘Nashoba.’ With support from big industry names like Tiësto, Avicii and Afrojack, he’s recently embarked on a sprawling North American tour with Hardwell and Kill The Buzz, taking his high energy progressive house and EDM sound to the USA.
Now boasting his very own radio show (Federation Radio) which has been syndicated across the world, Thomas Newson has played several huge gigs including Creamfields and Tomorrowland, and looks set to be one of the hot dance music tickets in 2017.
