British rock band Razorlight have become known, during their 15-year career, as one of the top indie rock bands in the UK. The band have released three albums, each of which charting highly in the UK and around Europe.
Having played their first show in 2002 Razorlight signed a deal with Mercury Records, releasing their debut album ‘Up All Night’ in 2004. The album was well received and went to Number 3 in the UK Charts and was received 4 times Platinum in the process. Six singles were released from the album with ‘Somewhere Else’ becoming a hit across the UK peaking in the Number Two spot.
Razorlight’s second self-titled album was their most successful album to date, topping the UK album chart. It received critical acclaim and their single ‘America’ was a Number One hit and earnt Razorlight a nomination for Best Song in the BRIT Awards. In July of 2006 Razorlight supported Queen, The Rolling Stones and Oasis alongside a string of other sell-out performances. The success of their album also saw them perform at Wembley Stadium and T in the Park.
In 2008 Razorlight released their third studio album, ‘Slipway Fires’. The album again performed well in the charts, reaching Number 4 in both France and the UK as well as charting elsewhere in Europe.
