British comedian Michael McIntrye is one of the leading comedic talents in the UK and around the world. Praised for his high-energy and observational performances, McIntrye has toured the world and headlined sell-out shows for thousands of people, including shows at the O2 Arena and Hammersmith Apollo in London.
Having been born into a comedy family, with his father a writer for Kenny Everett, McIntrye found a passion for making people laugh, before getting his break in 2007 with the first of three appearances on BBC’s popular ‘Live at the Apollo’ stand-up comedy show.
Since then, McIntrye has appeared on numerous comedy panel shows including Mock the Week, 8 out of 10 Cats and Have I Got News For You. He also began hosting Michael McIntrye’s Comedy Roadshow in 2009, touring the UK and showcasing many of the country’s rising comedy talents. McIntrye was also praised for hosting the Royal Variety Performances in 2010 and 2014.
On stage, McIntrye has performed at many of London’s top venues, including a record-breaking six nights at Wembley Arena as well as a 2012 UK tour which included 71 shows for over 700,000 people, making him the world’s biggest selling comedian that year.
McIntrye has also been recognized formally numerous times, being nominated for Edinburgh Festival’s Perrier Award in 2003. His first award came in 2008 when he was named the Best Headliner at the Chortle Awards. He was also named GQ’s Best Comedian in 2009 and has added a National Television Award and BAFTA to his collection.
