Matthais Paul, famously known by his stage name, Paul Van Dyk, is an international DJ and music producer from Germany.
He made his first appearance as a DJ in 1991, when he was only twenty, in popular German nightclub Tresor. Since then, his career, spanning over two decades has seen him transform into the ultimate electronic music superstar.
Van Dyk became the first artist to receive a Grammy Award nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album for Reflections, his 2003 release which took his success to new heights. He has sold over 3million albums and has been voted world’s number one DJ twice consecutively, in 2005 and 2006 and ranked in the top 5 for the next 7 years. He was also voted “America’s Favorite DJ” in 2004 and 2005 by BPM Magazine. Van Dyk has won a string of accolades throughout his career including an award for Best International DJ in America’s 2004 Dancestar Awards, Best Soundtrack In A Motion Picture "The Dark Knight" in the 2008 Grammy Awards, Best Producer in the 2008 International Dance Music Awards, among numerous others.
