Indian vocalist and musician Haricharan is one of the leading talents in Carnatic music. Born into a musically-inclined family, Haricharan began studying music at seven years old before setting out on a career that has seen him be featured in numerous movies and performances across the globe.
Haricharan’s first recordings saw him included on the soundtrack for the 2004 film ‘Kaadhal’. The song ‘Unakkena Iruppen’ was an instant hit and was nominated for a National Film Award. Haricharan continued to record music for films, seeing him be featured in 4 movies in 2006 and 7 in 2007. His discography continued to increase at the same rate, seeing him work with many of the industry’s top singers including Benny Dayal, Mano and Roshini.
As his career grew faster and faster, Haricharan began working with some of the biggest names in Bollywood, eventually joining up with veteran composer A.R.Rahman in 2013’s ‘Kadal’. Haricharan has repeatedly worked with Rahman over the years, most notably on the song ‘Maattram Ondrudhaan Maradhadhu’ which was included on ‘Kochadaiiyaan’.
Haricharan has also become known across the region for ‘Thuli Thuli’, which was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja and formed part of the ‘Paiyaa’ soundtrack in 2010.
