Dubai’s skyline is getting a new addition — and it’s a big one. The MGM Tower, part of a sprawling beachfront development, is currently under construction and is expected to open in Q3 2027, according to William Hornbuckle, CEO of MGM Resorts International.

“We’re literally up on the fifth floor of the MGM tower as we speak,” Hornbuckle shared during a quarterly earnings call. Describing the site as “a truly interesting resort with all kinds of features,” he also hinted at potential gaming opportunities in the future, depending on regulatory developments.

The huge beachfront project will include:

  • MGM Hotel
  • MGM Residences
  • Bellagio Hotel

The project marks the debut of MGM and Bellagio brands in the Middle East. Back in 2017, Dubai’s Wasl Hospitality and Leisure signed an agreement with MGM Hospitality to develop and manage the resort, set to be one of the city’s premier destinations.

While the current agreement is non-gaming, interest in the UAE’s evolving gaming landscape remains strong. Analysts estimate the local market could grow to AED 11-18.3 billion in the coming years. It’s a space to watch — especially with Ras Al Khaimah’s Wynn Al Marjan Island leading the way as the first integrated gaming resort licensed by the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA).

For now, MGM’s focus remains on delivering a world-class resort experience on Dubai’s shores. As construction moves higher, the 2027 opening date is coming into clearer view.
