Riyadh’s public transportation system continues to grow with the latest addition to the Orange Line (Line 3) of the Riyadh Metro. Hassan bin Thabit Street, officially opened by the Public Transport Authority, is the newest stop on one of the capital’s most important transit corridors.

The Orange Line stretches 41 kilometres, running from Jeddah Road in the west to the Second Eastern Ring Road near Khashm Al Aan in the east. The new stop is located between An Naseem and Khashm Al Aan (terminus).

The newly opened station is expected to:

  • Improve daily commute options for residents and visitors
  • Relieve traffic congestion in neighbouring areas
  • Provide easier access to other lines and services in the network

The Riyadh Metro is a 176-kilometre network consisting of six lines and 85 stations, including eight major transfer hubs that connect various lines across the city. It’s designed to offer a modern, efficient alternative to private transport in one of the fastest-growing urban centres in the region.

In April, two other Orange Line stations — Railway Station and Jarir District Station — also opened, and are already contributing to smoother commuter flows across densely populated districts. The ongoing expansion of the Riyadh Metro supports the city’s broader vision for accessible, environmentally responsible public transport.

With more stations coming online, Riyadh is steadily building one of the most comprehensive metro systems in the Middle East.
