Qiddiya City is taking another big step toward becoming a global hub for sports and entertainment. In a newly announced global partnership with the Faldo Series, the city has revealed plans for an 18-hole championship golf course, designed by six-time Major winner Sir Nick Faldo.

The course is expected to open in 2026 and is part of Qiddiya’s strategy to support sporting development in Saudi Arabia, particularly among youth. The partnership with the Faldo Series — a well-known international platform for young golf talent — reflects the Kingdom’s continued investment in grassroots sports under Vision 2030.

The upcoming course won’t just serve as a tournament venue. It’s being designed as a community-driven, immersive golfing experience. One of the standout features will be a “three-hole return” layout, which allows players to complete shorter rounds. This aims to make the sport more accessible and appealing to newcomers and casual players.

The upcoming destination will include:

  • A clubhouse
  • A golf academy
  • Modern training facilities, expected to open by 2028

These additions are intended to encourage wider community engagement and foster future generations of golf talent in the region.

The new golf course joins a growing list of high-profile projects helping transform Qiddiya into one of the region’s most ambitious entertainment and leisure destinations. Alongside the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Stadium, set to host 2034 FIFA World Cup events, and the Six Flags Qiddiya Park featuring 28 rides, the area is rapidly evolving into a world-class destination for sport, play, and culture.
