Dubai government employees will have more flexibility in their work schedules during Ramadan. The new policy allows public sector workers to adjust their hours and work remotely for up to two days a week, as long as their job responsibilities allow it.

New Working Hours for Public Sector Employees during Ramadan

From Monday to Thursday, government employees will work from 9 AM to 2:30 PM, while on Fridays, they will finish earlier at 12 PM. Those opting for flexible hours must complete at least 5.5 hours of work per day (Monday to Thursday) and three hours on Friday.

Remote Work Options

Dubai’s new policy also supports remote work, giving employees the choice to work from home for two days a week. However, this depends on the nature of their job and their employer’s approval.

Private Sector Ramadan Work Hours

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has confirmed that private sector employees will also have shorter working hours. By law, private sector workers can reduce their daily work schedule by two hours throughout Ramadan.

This initiative follows a federal government decision to ease working conditions for employees during Ramadan. Shorter hours aim to support workers in balancing professional and personal commitments during the holy month.

With Ramadan expected to start on Saturday, March 1, these adjustments will help create a more manageable and productive work environment during the fasting period.
